When it comes to dining in central London, Soho stands out as a lively hub of culinary creativity. From bustling cafés to experimental kitchens, it offers a broad spectrum of options for those in search of a memorable midday meal. Yet, amidst the variety of flavours and formats, one name shines with quiet confidence — SOLA. A Michelin-starred restaurant nestled on Dean Street, SOLA isn’t just a dinner destination; it’s also a standout choice for a refined, leisurely lunch.
While many fine dining establishments reserve their energy for dinner service, SOLA goes against the grain, offering a Michelin-starred tasting menu for lunch that maintains the same standard of excellence. It’s a perfect option for those looking to enjoy a special afternoon experience — whether you’re meeting a client, celebrating something special, or simply treating yourself to something extraordinary.
Unlike more casual lunch spots, SOLA’s offering is elegant and immersive, yet the setting is warm and relaxed, making it one of the nicest restaurants for lunch in Soho by a long way.
What sets SOLA apart from its neighbours is its culinary identity. Chef Patron Victor Garvey draws inspiration from California’s Pacific Coast, where freshness, creativity, and multicultural influence converge. The result is a modern tasting menu that blends British produce with Californian flair — a rare concept in London and one that’s executed with absolute finesse.
Michelin-starred restaurants often conjure thoughts of high prices and formal atmospheres. However, SOLA manages to strike a fine balance between luxury and accessibility. Our lunch tasting menu, while still a premium offering, provides fantastic value for the quality, service, and overall experience.
If you’re seeking one of the nicest restaurants for lunch in Soho that doesn’t feel rushed, overcrowded or impersonal, SOLA is an excellent choice. It offers the chance to experience fine dining in a more approachable setting — a wonderful alternative to the more hectic lunch spots often found in central London.
SOLA’s intimate dining room is styled to reflect its West Coast inspiration — light, calm, and minimal without being stark. It’s the kind of setting where you can enjoy a thoughtful meal without feeling out of place, whether you’re dressed for business or enjoying a relaxed day out.
With only a limited number of covers, the space feels exclusive without being pretentious, and the pace of service is perfectly timed for a relaxing lunch. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, guiding you through each course with care and passion, without ever being overbearing.
A standout feature of the SOLA experience is its North American-led wine list, with particular emphasis on Californian producers. Whether you’re opting for the expertly curated wine pairing or choosing by the glass, the options are varied, thoughtful, and perfectly matched to the tasting menu. It’s a wonderful way to enhance your meal and explore some lesser-known labels along the way.
In a city brimming with lunchtime options, SOLA offers something entirely unique — Michelin-starred food, Californian soul, and a relaxed yet refined setting. It’s a chance to enjoy exquisite food without the formality that often accompanies fine dining, making it ideal for those looking to elevate their lunch plans.
Whether you’re dining solo, entertaining a guest, or catching up with a friend over several courses, SOLA is a true hidden gem among Soho’s best lunch restaurants.
Book your table at SOLA via solasoho.com and experience the elegance and creativity of Michelin-starred Californian cuisine in the heart of London.
